Schwartz Media has appointed Geoff Cope-Watts to role of marketing and partnerships manager.

Cope-Watts joins the publishing business from SBS Audio, where he had been one of the public broadcaster’s program managers since September 2021.

Cope-Watts brings a strong background in media, having spent nearly two decades in a number of marketing and content roles in radio at ARN, SCA, Fairfax Media and Nine.

“I have long admired the work of Schwartz Media and I am very excited to work alongside this group of talented and dedicated people to drive growth for The Saturday Paper, The Monthly and 7am,” Cope-Watts told Mumbrella.

Schwartz deputy chief executive, Zoe Featherstone, added: “We are so pleased to have Geoff join us at this time of renewal for Schwartz Media. Geoff’s expertise in leading audience engagement and strategic partnerships aligns perfectly with our mission. Geoff’s forward-thinking approach and his ability to adapt to the ever-evolving media landscape uniquely position him to help drive the next phase of our growth. ”

Schwartz Media’s latest appointment comes after the publishing business last month named adland’s Ben Shepherd as its new CEO, after Rebecca Costello exited to join Guardian Australia.

Shepherd will join Schwartz after a year-long stint as chief investment officer at dentsu Media, commencing the new role in late February.
