Screen Australia funds shorts, including Doolan’s Cyro.

Screen Australia will support 11 short films, including Cyro by the Oscar-nominated team of producer Drew Bailey and director Luke Doolan (plus writer Matthew Dabner).

The sci-fi thriller short will support the team’s upcoming feature Cargo.

The funding comes from the agency’s Springboard, Short Animation Production and Short Film Completion Fund programs, which aim to support filmmakers in developing their skills and raising their profile in the Australian and international industries.

Springboard teams have developed their shorts during two workshops (Dec 09 and Feb 2010), and they will soon commence production. The projects are:
