Screen NSW to help 10 indie game developers with PAX Aus showcase

With support from Screen NSW, 10 indie game developers in NSW will be showcasing their games at PAX Aus.

The announcement:

Ten NSW-based independent game developers will be showcasing their games at Australia’s biggest gaming event PAX Aus this October, with support from Screen NSW.

The PAX Market Support Program will enable 10 NSW indie developers to showcase their games in the fully-subsidised Screen NSW section in the PAX Rising area in the main expo hall at PAX Aus. PAX Rising features leading local and international indie developers and will provide supported developers exposure to players, publishers, media and industry professionals attending the major gaming event.

PAX Aus 2025 will be hosted in Melbourne from 10 – 12 October 2025 and is a celebration of all things gaming culture, with panels, exhibits, exclusive content and interactive activations as part of the festival.

The PAX Market Support Program is part of a range of initiatives Screen NSW offers to support NSW games practitioners travelling to local and international gaming events to gain experience and make new connections, including GCAP 2025 Travel Support Programs, GDC 2025 Market Travel Program and Gamescom 2025 Market Travel Program. The programs complement the support offered for NSW developers including the Digital Games Seed Development Fund, and the Digital Games Rebate with its expenditure threshold lowered to $350,000.

Head of Screen NSW Kyas Hepworth said:
“PAX Aus is one of Australia’s leading games events, attracting industry leaders, key decision makers and games lovers from all over the world. This will be the first time that Screen NSW will have a dedicated section at PAX Aus, as we continue to grow our support for the local games industry.

“Screen NSW is thrilled to support these ten NSW developers take their games to PAX and provide a platform to showcase the depth of talent, experience and innovation in game making we have here. We hope that from here they will make new connections to continue to grow their networks and have their games reach new audiences across Australia and the world.”
