Seven takes the final Monday of TV ratings season

Seven has taken the final Monday night of the 2023 rating season, with The 1% Club, The Chase, and Home and Away all kicking goals for the network.

As mentioned, this is the final week of TV ratings for 2023, which of course means only one thing: a 90-minute heart-stopping Home and Away finale this Wednesday.

Okay, maybe it means a few other things – all of which will be revealed in the wash up, where we will do our usual keen analysis of the year’s ratings and what it means for the networks.

For now, however, it’s Tuesday morning, and the networks are showing no signs of taking an early holiday.

Back to Monday night. Dessert Masters continued its impressive build for Ten, drawing 471,000 viewers across the five metros, while the premiere of NCIS Sydney launched to a metro audience of 310,000.

Nine scored big with usual suspect A Current Affair (634,000), as well David Attenborough’s Planet Earth III (spoiler: we’re killing the planet), and Hot Seat (333,000), which both pulled respectable audiences.

Australian Story did well for ABC, with 455,000 viewers, while lower down Media Watch pulled 327,000 across the five capital cities.

Overall, Seven drew 28.6% of the audience, pipping Nine’s 25.8%. Ten drew 19% and ABC pulled 18.2%.
