Seven takes Thursday with Winter Olympic coverage

Seven’s coverage of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games topped entertainment programs, which also topped the 16 to 39 demographic.

Seven also had the majority network share on Thursday night, with Seven News also topping the 18 to 49 and 25 to 54 demographic.

For entertainment programs, Seven’s Winter Olympic coverage of Night 6 drew in 514,000 metro viewers, and its coverage of Evening 6 drew in 513,000 metro viewers.

Next was Nine’s Australia Behind Bars with 479,000 metro viewers.

Seven’s Home and Away came next with 471,000 metro viewers.

Overall, the top program was Seven News with 932,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6.30 with 893,000 metro viewers.

Nine News and Nine News 6.30 followed with 793,000 and 763,000 metro viewers respectively.

ABC News was next with 588,000 metro viewers.

Nine’s A Current Affair followed with 530,000 metro viewers.

As mentioned, Seven had the majority network share with 35.4%, followed by Nine with 27.8%. ABC was next with 15.4%, then Ten with 13.7%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 3 February, Seven News topped with 1.442 million total viewers, including 31,000 BVOD viewers nationally and an uplift of 2%.

The program with the biggest uplift, however, was SBS’ The Long Call with an uplift of 101%, totalling 595,000 viewers with 144,000 nationally on BVOD.
