Seven wins a quiet Friday night with news and Better Homes
Better Homes and Gardens and the ABC’s UK detective shows, DCI Banks and Endeavour were the most watched non-news shows of Friday night, the preliminary OzTam TV ratings reports.
Across the five metro areas, Seven News won the night with 821,000 average viewers while Nine’s News recorded 768,000. The ABC’s 7pm news edged out Nine’s A Current Affair with 622,000 and 560,000 respectively.
Seven had the most successful non-news program in the summer version of Better Homes and Gardens with 554,000 metro viewers tuning in while the ABC’s DCI Banks and Endeavor attracted audiences of 544,000 and 536,000 respectively.
Ten’s Graheme Norton Show was just outside the top ten most watched shows for the night with 437,000 viewers, beaten by the 514,000 who tuned into Seven’s The Chase Australia.
Nine’s best performing non-news program was The Hot Seat which attracted 357,000 viewers to be the 14th most watch show for the evening.
On a total audience share for the main stations, Seven won the night with 19.3% of viewers, edging out Nine with 16.1% and ABC1 with 14.7%. Ten attracted 9.3% and SBS 5.3%.
Total network share saw Nine – which includes Go!, Gem and 9Life – win the evening with 32.3% of the audience tuning in with Seven scoring 27.6%, while the ABC 17.2% edged out Ten with 15.2% and SBS 7.9%.
