Seven wins the week as Ten’s Saturday share plummets

Seven just managed to clinch the week posting a weekly audience share of 20%, just ahead of Nine’s share of 19.5%.

Ten claimed third place with a weekly share of 12.9% while the ABC posted a share of 12.2%.

The weekly results come as Seven won Saturday night with an audience share of 18.8% thanks to the news and AFL coverage.

Seven News at 6pm was watched by 806,000 metro viewers while the AFL at 7pm grabbed 309,000 viewers across Melbourne and Adelaide.

Nine posted a Saturday share of 14.1% with the Nine News at 6pm watched by 765,000 metro viewers and Getaway at 5.30pm pulling in 441,000. Nine’s Saturday movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon was watched by 328,000 from 7pm.

Ten claimed a Saturday share of 5.5% with its broadcast of game two of the 2016 Bledisloe Cup which saw the Wallabies take on the All Blacks pull in 336,000 metro viewers from 5pm.

The match was the only programming Ten managed to get in the top 30 shows of Saturday, with the network dedicating most of the night to replaying the first two episodes of Australian Survivor.

In Melbourne, Ten’s share dived to 2.8% and in Adelaide it was just 2.1%. The channel did better in Sydney with a share of 7.8% and in Brisbane where it reported a share of 9% while in Perth it claimed a share of 5.8%.

Saturday was a good night for the ABC, which managed a share of 16.4% with The Coroner at 7.30pm watched by 733,000 metro viewers.

A repeat of Inspector George Gently at 8.20pm pulled in 572,000 metro viewers while Gardening Australia at 6.30pm had a metro audience of 489,000.
