Seven’s Australia’s Cheapest Weddings gains viewers for finale double episode

Seven’s Australia’s Cheapest Weddings, which saw several couples tie the knot in its season finale double episode experienced a modest increase in viewers to tie off 2015.

The first of the final episode at 8:30pm had an audience of 538,000 viewers while the second episode at 9:30pm drew 461,000 viewers.

The program achieved a top five spot across the key advertising demographics(16-39s, 18-49s, 25-54s), with the first episode of the night placing number one in the 16-39s.

Channel Seven’s Home and Away was the most watched non-news program of the evening, achieving 668,000 viewers at7:00pm.

The program, which ran until 8:30pm, was in the top five shows across the key ad demographics.

Channel Nine saw 655,000 viewers tuning in to The Big Bang Theory at 7:30pm, the new episode revealing the lowest first-run audience numbers to date.

Despite this, the program managed a top five spot in across the key ad demographics.

Also in the 7:30pm time slot, Ten’s David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities pulled in 400,000 viewers down from last week’s audience of 450,000. 

The repeat episode of The Big Bang Theory, which aired at 8pm, managed an audience of 660,000.

In news, Seven won the night with an audience of 899,000 at 6:00pm, and 865,000 viewers at 6:30pm, leading Nine’s audiences of 849,000 at 6:00pm and 833,000 at 6:30pm.

On the ABC, Silvia’s Italian Table managed 482,000 at 8:00pm, while UK drama Doctor Foster achieved 493,000 viewers in the 8:30pm slot.

Also at 8:00pm, Ten’s Law and Order: SVU achieved an audience of 403,000 viewers.

Channel Seven won the audience share last night at 19.5% ahead of Channel Nine’s share of 16.4%. The ABC managed a third place in the audience shares at 12.6% ahead of Ten’s 12.3% and SBS’ 3.5%.
