Shane Warne fronts News Corp’s fantasy sports competition, SuperCoach BBL

Former Australian cricket star Shane Warne has fronted News Corp’s campaign for its fantasy sports competition, SuperCoach BBL.

The campaign, created by The Works, features Warne swiping across his phone saying “no” at each swipe until he then clarifies he is not swiping on Tinder but instead trying to build his Big Bash fantasy team.

Warne has been named as the face of SuperCoach BBL which will allow users to challenge him in the head-to-head round series.

The ad also features Warne Face-timing other cricket fans talking about the season ahead.

Brendan Collogan, GM of customer marketing at News Corp, said in a statement: “Shane Warne is the perfect fit for SuperCoach because he personifies two great things about the game – skill and banter. We’re very pleased that we have continued to grow this fantastic brand with Shane’s involvement.”

SuperCoach BBL content will be free for the season to help build the audience with the aim of converting BBL fantasy players to subscribers in the years to come.
