Shannon Connellan joins Mashable as Australian editor

Mashable Australia has appointed Shannon Connellan as its new Australia editor, replacing Jerico Mandybur.

Connellan is Mashable Australia’s third editor in 18 months.

She joins the company from Concrete Playground where she has worked since April 2014. Most recently, she held the role of managing editor.

Across her career Connellan has also worked as a writer for The Untitled Magazine in the US, and East Village Radio in New York, and FBi radio locally.

In her new role, Connellan will report to the deputy managing editor in Mashables West Coast bureau.

Connellan replaced Mandybur, who is now working as editorial director at Girlboss in Los Angeles.

According to her Linkedin, Mandybur finished at Mashable in June this year.

Mandybur replaced Jen Ryall who relocated to New York after two years, to take on the role of real-time editor with the publication.

Since then, Ryall has been promoted to vice president of content strategy.

According to Nielsen’s digital ratings (monthly), Mashable has struggled this year,  reporting a unique audience of 527,000 in January before falling to 175,000 in the latest rankings report.
