Shannon Noll belts out ‘Drive’ as Greyhound Australia hits the road again

Australian Idol icon, Shannon Noll, has reprised his early 2000s hit ‘Drive’ for Greyhound Australia as it returns its coaches to service.

The hero video and behind-the-scenes pieces see Noll interrupt a couple discussing a weekend away with his vocals, recreate his famous soul patch, and conclude with a roof top ride on a bus reminiscent of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Greyhound Australia CEO, Alex de Waal, said further collaboration with Noll could be on the horizon.

“Shannon has this wonderful true-blue Aussie appeal that bridges city, coast, and country,” he said.

“He’s also a top bloke. Two great Aussie brands together at last – I’m excited about the places our partnership will take us in the future.”

Created by Rumble, the campaign also launches brand platform ‘Feel the heart of Australia’.

Creative director, Bec McCall, said the goal was to capture the personality of country.

“Feel the heart of Australia represents more than just passing landscapes and iconic destinations. It also embraces the unique characters and richness of personality that call this country home, including the people who are part of the Greyhound team,” she said.

The TVC is in market now, and will be followed by retail activity.

“Beyond the campaign’s tongue-in-cheek humour, at its heart, it’s about reconnection and supporting regional towns that have done it tough over the past few months,” said Greyhound Australia marketing and communications manager, Michael Leard.

“Just like all Aussies, we’re excited to be out on the road again and keen as mustard to bring joy to Australian journeys.”
