According to SMI data, Shopper Media had the highest offline media growth in 2019.

The announcement:

Shopper Media achieves the highest offline media growth in 2019

According to the latest SMI* data, Shopper Media reported the third-highest growth of any media company in real dollar terms after tech players Google and Facebook. Shopper Media has achieved this result despite the industry decline of more than 5% on average across all media categories of television, print, online magazines, radio and out-of-home.

Tech giant Google secured the top spot as the fastest organically growing media group with a $33.5 million year-on-year increase, followed by Facebook at $15.9 million. Shopper Media Group ranked third at more than $8.2 million – reflective of a staggering 78 per cent growth within the business.

Ben Walker, CEO of Shopper Media, says the fantastic result can be credited to the company’s ability to offer rich customer data and insights that are visually illustrated in the Shopper Ai platform, allowing mass personalisation across its 100% digital inventory.

“Rich data, fuelled by our MIST WiFi and Shopper Ai platforms, allows brands to accurately target their audience based on demographic and psychographic characteristics and purchase behaviours, delivering personalisation at scale.”

Shopper Media currently boasts a portfolio of more than 350 retail centres, reaching key CBD and local communities and more than 10.8 million unique Australian shoppers each month.

“Our data platforms enable us to operate like an online media company, however we have physical assets that can’t be skipped, turned off or blocked at the point of purchase,” Mr Walker said.

“We look forward to ongoing growth in 2020 and continuing to deliver highly relevant and contextual campaigns with our agency partners and clients.”
