Snap Inc’s regional GM Kathryn Carter steps down
Kathryn Carter, the general manager of Snap Inc Asia Pacific, will leave the company at the end of March, as the company looks for a new leader within the region.
She has been with the company for seven years and helped grow the business across Asia, Australia and New Zealand. There were no further details on Carter’s next role.
Carter first joined the company from News Corp Australia, where she was the NSW sales director.
Snap’s president Asia-Pacific, Ajit Mohan, said: “Kathryn has been instrumental in solidifying Snapchat’s stronghold in Australia as well as driving growth across Asia, demonstrating incredible leadership for teams across the region during her seven years with the company.
“We are tremendously grateful for her many contributions and wish her well.”
Carter added: “I am privileged to have been part of the Snap journey over the past seven years. From launching in a shared work space in Sydney, to offices and teams throughout the region, I am very proud of the team who have driven growth in a kind, smart and creative way.
“I am grateful to my team, and Snap leadership for the many opportunities along the way, and look forward to cheering on their growth from the sidelines. I am excited by what’s to come, and to build again.”
Another talent that recently left the company was Gareth Leeding, who went from head of creative strategy at Snap to chief innovation officer at Livewire.
Snap Inc recently posted its fourth quarter and full-year earnings for 2022, where it saw an increase in revenue but also a widening net loss.
Is Snapchat still a thing? I assumed Tiktok and Insta had gone long past it. I see no presence in Australia
