Sony Ericsson and Ignite launch campaign to find Aussie bloggers

MEC and Ignite Media Brands have created a multi- platform campaign for Sony Ericsson – aiming to find four top Aussie bloggers.

The announcement:

Sony Ericsson will this week launch a high-profile, multi-platform campaign across subscription TV (STV) and digital media, including online entertainment sites and social networking communities, in a bid to find four of Australia’s next hottest bloggers.

The campaign, developed by MEC and Ignite Media Brands in collaboration with MTV’s Brand Solutions team and Sony Ericsson, will run across MTV, The Movie Network, TV1 and SciFi channels as well as Ignite’s digital portfolio of sites.

The aim is to discover four talented young Australians who will become official Sony Ericsson bloggers creating content in the areas of film, fashion, music and technology. Their content will then be featured on STV and online.

The winners will receive exclusive access to VIP parties, special events, a cash prize and the chance to launch their careers in the blogosphere as writers.

“It’s been the perfect match finding a media agency in MEC and a client in Sony Ericsson that are as enthusiastic as we are about engaging with our audience. The campaign is built on strong brand synergies that fit easily alongside one another and leverage the power of the MTV brand,” said Ignite National Sales Director Sharb Farjami.

Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, head of marketing, Oceania, Tim Barnes added: “Our collaboration with MTV captures the spirit of the Xperia™ smartphone brand. The blogger search project will empower our digitally savvy audience by providing them with an incredible platform for their passions. We’re looking for individuals that can create content that entertains and inspires.”

The campaign will also be actively supported through Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms.

The six-month initiative begins on December 14. For more information visit: www.sonyericsson.com/bloggersearch.
