South Australian Film Corporation maintains core funding programs

The South Australian Film Corporation has announced that although its operating budget will be reduced from 2012 – its core funding programs will continue on a recurrent basis and provide ” important certainty for South Australian filmmakers.”

SAFC Chairman, Cheryl Bart said “The South Australian Film Corporation continues to enjoy the confidence of the South Australian Government. We have had an extremely successful past few years despite a difficult production landscape nationally, winning production and undertaking bold new ventures that are supporting the local sector more than ever before, and we are looking forward to moving into our new premises at Glenside next year. Like many other arts agencies in South Australia we will need to make some operational savings over the longer term to accommodate this reduction in funding, but we are confident we can achieve these without compromising our ability to deliver.”

The SA Film Corp will move to a new state-of-the-art production facility in mid-2011.
