Southern Cross Austereo appoints Gina Hogan to GM as Linda Wayman steps down

Southern Cross Austereo has promoted Gina Hogan, general manager of Cairns and Tablelands, to fill Linda Wayman’s role as general manager in Perth.

Wayman was SCA Perth’s general manager for more than 14 years.

As replacement for Wayman, Hogan will oversee the operations of Mix94.5, Hit 92.9, supporting and coaching the team to drive the network’s success in the Perth market.

Hogan joined Southern Cross Austereo in 2009 and has worked out of Cairns since then.

Hogan joins SCA’s Perth operation after almost eight years with the broadcasting company.

Prior to that she worked as station manager at the Seven Network and station manager at Prime Radio.

SCA’s chief operating officer John Kelly said Hogan will lead Perth’s collaboration and implement the company’s initiatives on a local market level.

“I am delighted that after her strong performance at our Cairns operation Gina is now going to take her exemplary management skills to run our metropolitan operations in Perth,” Kelly said.

Commenting on her appointment, Hogan said: “I’m thrilled to be taking on new challenges in Perth, and I’m certainly looking forward to the move to WA.  With family in the region, I am not a complete stranger to the West.”

She will start her new position on July 17, reporting directly to Kelly.

Wayman was known for her blunt speaking style, telling Mumbrella Perth they gave their staff condoms to discourage them from having babies.
