Melbourne’s The Sphere Agency has been named the Presenting Partner for the 2017 Peninsula Short Film Fest. The festival, now in its seventh year, has been growing each year and is expecting a crowd of over 6,000 at the 2017 event.

The Festival is supported by top Australian talent, including Russell Crowe, Sam Worthington and Nash Edgerton – with past judges including Shane Jacobson, Kerry Armstrong, Firass Dirani, Michala Banas, Samuel Johnson and Jane Hall. Free to attend, the Festival screens up to 20 short films all competing for $30K in cash and prizes. Entries are now open and filmmakers of any level are invited to submit a short film up to 8 minutes in length via Film Freeway.

Steve Bastoni, Peninsula Short Film Fest Director, said, “It’s fantastic to have Sphere on board as presenting partner. They fully understand what we’re trying to achieve with this festival and are as passionate about celebrating creativity as we are.”

Speaking about the partnership, Michael Abdel, Sphere Founder and Executive Creative Director said, “Today, content is king. With this partnership we want to help discover, encourage and support the up and coming emerging stars of film. With our head office located in Melbourne, we also wanted to give something back to the city and help celebrate its rich arts scene.”
