Spirit Telecom positions itself as NBN competitor in ‘Think Again’ campaign

Victorian-based internet provider Spirit Telecom has positioned itself as a direct competitor to the NBN in a new campaign promoting its internet speeds.

The new work for the fibre provider, which only targets apartment and commercial buildings, is spearheaded by a TVC and the tagline ‘Think Again’.

Created by Magnum Opus Partners, the ad aims to challenge what consumers know about Australian internet speeds.

The ad features an online show which cannot load because the internet is too slow, before a burst of light reveals the Spirit Telecom logo, promoting it as the fastest internet provider according to 2015’s PC Magazine Australia.

The ad will be shown first across cinemas on the Gold Coast, near buildings where the Spirit Fibre is being installed ,and will continue with TV spots and cinema spots across Australia.

Erin Lightfoot, managing director at Magnum Opus Partners said ‘Think Again’ was the “perfect call to action for potential new customers.”

“We simply want to challenge them to enquire, now something new is on offer. Matched to exciting new images and sound, we are confident that those who need to know that Spirit is an option for them will get the message. Fast.”

Mike Allen, executive creative director at Magnum Opus Partners said it was the first ad in a suite of campaigns for the brand, which the agency has created under their new results focus.

“We are confident this new campaign will produce measurable, incremental sales uplift for Spirit, as well as positioning the brand with great clarity in the public’s mind, for the next stage of their company’s growth.”
