Start of AFL finals season kicks goals for Seven on Thursday night

Seven dominated Thursday night, with news coverage and the beginning of the AFL finals season bringing almost 40% of viewers to the channel.

Seven took 39.4% of the night’s market share, trouncing Nine, who captured 23.1%, and Ten, who managed just 17.2% of the audience.

733,000 tuned into the Pies and Demons game, with Seven News, and Seven News at 6.30 capturing 805,000 and 803,000, respectively.

A Current Affair drew 594,000 viewers for Nine, while Gogglebox was the brightest performer for Ten, with 420,000 viewers across the five capital cities.
