State of Origin II brings in the crowd again for Nine; metro viewers up year-on-year
State of Origin’s second game on Wednesday night continued to deliver for Nine following the first game’s ratings hit earlier this month, as the network secured close to 50% of the overall share.
The game last night saw the Maroons win 32-6 over the Blues, as Queensland sealed the series with victory over New South Wales. The match aired to 1.83 million metro viewers, while the pre-match slot brought in 915,000 metro viewers and 668,000 tuned in for the post-patch.

State of Origin II also topped all three key advertising demos. The rating this year was up from the second game in 2022, which attracted 1.79 million metro viewers.
Seven News came second in overall metro programming with 967,000 viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 967,000.
Nine Network secured a 48.1% overall share, as its primary channel also grabbed a 42.6% share. Seven Network had a 19.9% overall share, followed by ABC with 13.9% and Ten with 11.8%.
In the latest daily consolidated 7 report for 14 June, Seven News was the #1 program with 1.488 million Total TV viewers, with a 4% uplift and 51,000 on national BVOD.
Utopia on ABC, however, was the program with the biggest uplift of 53%, with 1.19 million Total TV viewers and 52,000 on national BVOD.
