Sunrise pulls away for Seven – with a little help from The Wiggles
Seven’s morning show Sunrise appears to have recovered from its mid-year ratings wobble when Nine’s Today show closed the gap, and last week put in its best performance for two years.
Across the week Sunrise averaged 415,000 metro viewers to Today’s 324,000, according to OzTam ratings. Just as importantly, Sunrise won the week in the Today stronghold of Melbourne.
Sunrise’s win was capped by a big performance on Friday – with visits from children’s entertainers The Wiggles and Mental As Anything helping pull in 451,000 to Today’s 344,000.
