Seven has had the last laugh over critics of its coverage of the Beijing Olympics. Despite complains that insufficient action was shown live during the August sporting spectacular, and that viewers were shortchanged on many events, the network has won the International Olympic Committee’s gold award for its coverage.
The result will be all the sweeter for Seven, which won the same gong for its 2004 coverage of the Athens games.
