SXSW Sydney announces 2024 dates

Organisers of SXSW Sydney have locked in dates for next year’s conference as well as revealing attendance numbers for this year’s inaugural event.

SXSW Sydney 2024 is set to take place from October 14 – 20 next year.

Meanwhile, this year’s event saw attendance figures of 287,014 across 1,178 events, with 97,462 unique attendees (including 785 members of the media).

“To say SXSW Sydney left a mark on the city in its inaugural year is an understatement,” said Geoff Jones, Chair of SXSW Sydney.

“The team pulled together a remarkable grand-scale event that brought together APAC’s creative communities in a way the region had never seen before.

“We are thrilled to announce the dates for SXSW Sydney 2024 in partnership with the NSW Government and look forward to opening more doors for innovators across the tech and innovation, music, screen, games and creative industries.”

Mumbrella reported from this year’s event, and can attest to the large crowds – in fact one key complaint was that many people missed events they wanted to see as the demand was too high. As we wrote at the time, it’s a good problem to face in your first year.
