Sydney Film Festival launches; NSW invests $4.2mil for 20 new projects

Minister for the Arts, George Souris, announced 20 new Australian films and TV programs secured for NSW, at the opening night of the Sydney Film Festival last night.

The Government will invest $4.2 million in these 20 projects which include new productions by Academy Award winners Jane Campion and Emile Sherman as well as Wayne Blair’s The Sapphires.

“The productions will generate hundreds of jobs and see some of our top film and television creators, cast and crew working in NSW,” Mr Souris said.

Seven feature films, two television series, two children’s animated series and eight documentary programs help make up the 20 projects.
