TABOO Group welcomes new executive creative director

Melbourne-based indie creative agency TABOO Group has welcomed a new executive creative director, who joins from London.

Bringing over two decades of experience, including a 17-year tenure at AMV BBDO, Charlotte Adorjan joins the agency to help lead TABOO’s creative output and direction for clients.

“It’s a creative’s dream to find a place with such clever people and killer briefs,” she said.

“The potential to make ideas that push boundaries with a crew of abnormally lovely folk is pretty exciting – as is living in a country with much better weather.”

Adorjan has created work for big brands that has gone on to win various awards, including at Cannes Lions, D&AD and Creative Circle.

Alongside being an award-winning creative, she cohosts a regular podcast, The Village Lantern, and is the co-founder of Woodism, an art collaboration with her husband and 11-year-old son.

Managing director of the agency, James Mackinnon, said “to find someone of Charlotte’s experience and talent is hard enough, but to find someone who is also aligned to our attitude and values – and is just great fun to be around – is exceptional.

“Charlotte’s arrival marks a new chapter for TABOO and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come.”

Her appointment follows other recent significant hires, including former MullenLowe US executive Frannie Rhodes as managing partner, leading talent and operations, as well as Clemenger Group’s Kim Stoddart, as director of finance, and Jonathan Isaacs, as chairman.

“It was a long search to find a creative lead whose vision aligns perfectly with TABOO’s creative ethos of breaking rules for good reasons,” Rhodes commented.

“Charlotte’s incredible heritage in creativity, and dedication to diverse thinking, make her the ideal fit for our team.”
