Target focuses on gifts in retail-led Christmas spot
Target has kicked off its Christmas marketing push, with the retailer opting for a retail-led campaign focusing on promotions in store for a variety of gifts.
The TV ad, created by AJF Partnership, features a family giving and receiving various gifts, with the hint of Christmas in the background in the form of an out-of-focus tree, set against the music track Supertramp’s ‘Give a Little Bit’.

It follows on from Kmart’s retail Christmas spot, David Jones’ emotional brand Christmas push and Westfield’s more PR-led Christmas campaign featuring Sophia Grace and Rosie.
David Jones has done such an amazing job this year that these other product Christmas ads fail horribly in comparison.

When I read that AJF won the account it made me smile but the work they have produced is below average, if not boring. There is nothing creative, fresh or exciting – all rather insipid. As for the direction, there is none. Hang your heads in shame AJF.
Time for the account to go up for pitch again.

Sam, if your talking about the David Jones Chimney spot, I reckon your on their payroll, neither are that good. I liked David Jones Christmas last year, from the production company in the US that did the Neiman Marcus spot. At least it was a different approach.
