Parker/Tass project chosen for SPAAmart

The Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA) has announced the feature film projects that will participate at this year’s SPAAmart sessions during the organisation’s conference next month, including a romantic comedy by the Nadia Tass/David Parker team.

“Projects are are chosen on merit, not on relative experience levels.  These seven were the best projects submitted, and each one of them has the same opportunity to pitch to the same people. No-one gets in because of ‘who they are’ and they never will,” SPAAmart director  Julie Marlow told Encore.

“The visiting domestic and international executives will make their own decisions as to which projects suit them, and if experience is a criteria for them, then so be it.   We do not make our judgements based on anything other than market readiness of the script, the merit of the project, and the articulation of the team’s vision for their film, and the viability of the budget,” added Marlow.

According to Marlow, there are no New Zealand projects in the list because the New Zealand Film Commission is not sponsoring the initiative this year.
