TBWA Media Arts Lab appoints ECD for UK, EU and CEMEA

Tim Schoenmaeckers joins TBWA Media Arts Lab as its new ECD.

The announcement:

TBWA\Media Arts Lab, Apple’s bespoke global creative agency, today announced the appointment of Tim Schoenmaeckers as executive creative director for UK, EU and CEMEA, based in the agency’s London office. Schoenmaeckers will partner with London’s Managing Director Tommy Smith to lead the agency’s creative output across the region.

Originally from Belgium, Tim joins TBWA\Media Arts Lab from Ogilvy Chicago, where he served as executive creative director since September 2023. Prior to Ogilvy, he held executive creative director roles at Dentsu Creative and senior creative positions at FCB Chicago, where he rose from associate creative director to vice president creative director and head of brand acts over four and a half years.

“Tim’s proven ability to create culturally resonant work that drives both creative excellence and business impact makes him an ideal addition to our London team,” said Brent Anderson, global chief creative officer of TBWA\Media Arts Lab. “His award-winning track record with global brands will be invaluable as we continue to push creative boundaries for Apple.”

During his tenure in Chicago, Tim led creative development for global and North American accounts including SC Johnson, Canon, Marriott, and Clorox brands. He also executed high-impact campaigns for Anheuser-Busch, Harley-Davidson, the City of Chicago, and numerous other brands. His creative work has earned the industry’s most prestigious awards, including two Titanium Lions, three Cannes Grand Prix, a One Show Best in Discipline, and the D&AD Black Pencil.

“An opportunity to work on a brand as iconic and beloved as Apple doesn’t come around every day. It brings with it a heightened sense of responsibility — pushing me to think bigger, dig deeper, and deliver the very best,” said Schoenmaeckers. “It’s both humbling and exhilarating, reigniting the same excitement and nervous energy I felt when I first stepped into this industry 15 years ago. And that’s a feeling worth chasing.”
