TEG appoints new CIO from Virgin Australia

Live entertainment, ticketing, and technology business TEG has appointed Cameron Stone as chief technology officer.

Stone was previously CIO at Virgin Australia where he delivered some of the largest technology platform transformations in the airline’s history and was a member of the executive leadership team. He was previously also CIO and SVP at Aurizon.

Stone will lead the team charged with evolving and executing the company’s technology capability and investments.

TEG chief executivesaid: “Cam has built a successful career specialising in large transformation programs and the mobilisation of technology driven organisations. He is perfectly placed to extend TEG’s technology leadership across our global operations.”

Stone will report to Ian Ball, TEG’s chief operating officer and global head of venues, who joined the business in 2020 from ASX-listed global professional services company Cardno.

TEG provides ticketing services through its Ticketek brand to venues including the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Sydney Cricket Ground, ANZ Stadium, Suncorp Stadium, Adelaide Oval, AAMI Park, GIO Stadium, Wellington Stadium, Qudos Bank Arena, RAC Arena, Brisbane Entertainment Centre and more.

In live touring and major event sport TEG has promoted Queen + Adam Lambert, Eminem, Guns N’ Roses amongst others.

In data, digital and technology, TEG draws on the insights from 16 million data records and more than 1 million members of research panels.
