Telstra customers celebrate new phones offer in campaign from DDB

Telstra is promoting its new option of getting a new mobile phone after 12 months instead of two years with a new campaign which focuses on the “joy and excitement” people feel when they receive a new phone.

The campaign, created by DDB, sees a customer showing their new phone to a friend who expresses their confusion at their ability to get a new device before the end of their 24 month contract, to which they reply they are with Telstra so they can get a new phone every year, cue the celebration, dork dancing included.

Telstra Director Segment Marketing Andy Bateman said: “We believe in the game changing nature of this offer, and we’ve had lots of excitement from consumers around it.

“It is a clear demonstration of Telstra listening to customers, co-creating new products and services with them and bringing them offers that show we really care about delivering relevant, differentiated and market leading solutions.”

The two 30 second commercials are running nationally and are supported with digital, social and outdoor media.
