Ten pays tribute to Maureen Duval
Australian TV veteran Maureen Duval passed away today. Duval, a long term host of Ten’s Good Morning Sydney, had reportedly been ill for some time.
Ten issued a statement from chief programming officer, Beverley McGarvey saying: “Maureen was a pioneer of the Australian television industry and had a long association with Ten, including many years as the host of Good Morning Sydney. She was the consummate professional and paved the way for many other television hosts.
“Our thoughts are with Maureen’s family at this very sad time. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.”
Maureen was a big part of those halcyon fun-filled days in Sydney, And, of course, Annette Allyson in Melbourne…. And the producers and reseachers that supported them both made it fun and a real pleasure to visit whether flogging something or not. You will be remembered fondly, Maureen.

How very sad to hear of Maureen’s passing. One of my early roles in advertising was to produce the annual clearance sale commercials for David Jones and Maureen was of course the lead. She was an absolute professional and always generous with her attention. I’ve no doubt she will be missed.
