Ten to launch a fourth new multi-channel
Ten has revealed plans to launch a fourth multi-channel, focusing on the additional content it has access to through parent company ViacomCBS.
More details will be revealed this week, but Mumbrella understands the channel will have a focus on entertainment content.
A Ten spokesperson confirmed the full announcement would be made in due time.
“ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President, Beverley McGarvey, today announced that Network 10 would unveil a fourth channel later this year,” said the spokesperson.
“Complementing 10, 10 Peach and 10 Bold, the fourth channel will appeal to the under 50s audience. Further announcements about the channel will be made in the coming months.”
Through ViacomCBS Ten has access to a range of reality content via MTV and children’s content on Nickelodeon. It has already added a block of children’s programming to its lineup on 10 Peach.
ViacomCBS has a first-run partnership with subscription TV provider Foxtel, but Ten would be able to utilise a large back catalogue of content. In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, McGarvey confirmed the channel would focus on under 50s entertainment.
More information is expected to be revealed at Ten’s mid-year upfront event this week.

A good option would be to launch a free-to-air music channel. This will complement Viacom’s new Foxtel music channels. Give free-to-air viewers something different with 24/7 music videos, interviews, concert replays across a variety of music genres.
