Hamish Blake helps Ten wins the demos with guest spot on The Bachelor

Ten’s The Bachelor gained more than 100,000 metro viewers from last week, with Thursday night’s episode featuring popular radio host Hamish Blake.

The program won the 7:30pm time slot, attracting 857,000 viewers and taking first place across the demos for the third week in a row.

Channel Ten has dominated the demos for the second week in a row, with three programs in the top five for all ages.

Goggle Box won the 8:40pm time slot and second place across the demos, with 619,000 viewers, while The Project achieved 637,000 metro viewers.

Despite The Project’s dominance across the demos, Home and Away took the win in the 7:00pm time slot with 678,000 viewers.

In the news battle, Seven won the 6:00pm slot for the second consecutive week, with 1.032m tuning in over Nine’s 939,000 viewers.

Seven also won the 6:30pm time slot, attracting 936,000 viewers for Today Tonight over Nine’s 899,000 viewers for Nine News. As a result, Channel Ten’s The Family Feud fell short at the 6:00pm time slot with just 479,000 viewers.

It was a big night this week for the NRL, which attracted 514,000 viewers for the 7:30pm NRL Live match between the Brisbane Broncos and the Sydney Roosters. The program was watched by 259,000 in Sydney and 282,000 in Brisbane, where the game was played.

Channel Nine won the overall share for the evening at 27.6%, just ahead of Seven’s 25.0% and Ten’s 22.1%. The ABC’s share rose again this week to 18.6%.
