Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention wins the demos, only non-news program in top 10 shows

Last night’s ratings ladder was dominated by news and current affairs offerings on Seven, Nine and the ABC with Ten’s quiz show ‘Have You Been Paying Attention?’, the only entertainment show to make the top 10.

OzTAM’s overnight preliminary ratings saw Seven News attract the most viewers of the evening with 957,000 metro viewers, while Nine News’ 910,000 afforded it the second place slot.

Nine’s A Current Affair also rated highly, achieving 749,000 metro viewers. ABC’s news program tied for the spot, also achieving 749,000 viewers.

Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? managed 695,000 metro viewers in its 8.30pm time slot, making it the most-watched entertainment show of the night. The show was also the most-watched across the 18-49s, 16-39s and 25-54s demographics.

Despite the show’s success in the demos, Seven came out top in overall audience share.

The channel achieved a 18.8% share compared to Ten’s 11.8%, Nine’s 15.3%, ABC’s 17.1% and SBS’ 4.7%.

With 545,000 metro viewers, Nine’s Family Food Fight was beaten by Seven’s Home and Away, Instant Hotel and The Chase Australia, which each achieved 689,000, 587,000 and 561,000 viewers respectively.

Competing against The Chase’s 561,000 viewers in the 5.00pm time slot was Nine’s Millionaire Hot Seat, which achieved 463,000 metro viewers.
