The Australian Grand Prix announces new ambassador

The Australian Grand Prix has found itself a new ambassador in the form of F1-aerodynamicist-turned-baker Kate Reid – the owner of Lune Croissanterie.

The announcement:

Kate Reid, owner of the cult favourite Lune Croissanterie (Lune) and former Formula 1® aerodynamicist, has been announced today as an ambassador of the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2024.

In addition, Kate will be bringing Lune to the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit, with a pop-up Croissanterie to be appearing across all four days of the event in Oval 17, near the Formula 1® Paddock. Fans will want to get in quick to sample the pastries trackside, with the three Lune Melbourne stores having a reputation for selling out daily.

A special edition Lamington-inspired twice baked croissant developed by Kate and her team at Lune will be available in their Melbourne and Brisbane stores for the month of March, and will incorporate all the delicious elements of the classic Aussie treat inside a traditional croissant.

With a truly unique perspective of Formula 1®, having grown up as a fan attending the inaugural race in Melbourne with her dad before embarking on a career in the sport as an aerodynamic engineer for Williams Racing, Kate’s career and story have been inspirational and make her a perfect fit as an event ambassador.

After several years in the UK working in F1®, Kate made the career shift into baking and the physical shift back to Melbourne, applying the skills of her engineering background to develop innovative techniques and establishing the Lune brand.

Now with three stores in Melbourne and two in Brisbane plus a cookbook to her name, Kate is truly an institution of the Australian food scene.

The Lune Pop Up will be accessible to all ticketholders of the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2024. Limited Park Pass tickets remain for Thursday and Friday, with prices starting at just $45, and kids under 14 able to attend free with a paying adult.
