The Block cements entertainment lead as Nine takes total share

An episode of Nine’s The Block topped entertainment programming for Wednesday evening, assisting Nine to take the evening with the top total share.

The episode brought in 749,000 metro viewers and topped all three key advertising demos, followed in by Seven’s the chase, which saw 528,000 metro viewers tune in.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 3 August, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.44 million viewers, including 38,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was ABC’s Aftertaste with an uplift of 35% and aired to a total audience of 322,000 total viewers.

Next in entertainment was Home and Away on Seven, with 477,000 metro viewers, then Seven’s My Kitchen Rules on 471,000, followed by Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell on ABC, by 412,000 metro viewers.

Nine’s After the Verdict saw 409,000 metro viewers tune in and Hot Seat on Nine brought in 376,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News was the #1 metro program on Tuesday with 920,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 905,000 metro viewers, while Nine News brought in 799,000 metro viewers. Nine News at 6:30pm pulled in 793,000 viewers.

ABC News brought in 599,000, and ABC’s 7:30 pulled in 450,000 viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 31.9% over Seven’s 28.4%, while the ABC took a 15.9% share and Ten had 15.3%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Tuesday was 10Peach with a share of 3.7%
