The Block cements lead as Nine takes the night
The Block has taken out entertainment programming for Tuesday night, bringing in 777,000 metro viewers for Nine, cementing the network’s lead in total share.
The episode was followed by Seven’s The Chase, which had an average of 493,000 metro viewers, then My Kitchen Rules on Seven, with 478,000 metro viewers.
In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 23 August, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.464 million viewers, including 39,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. The biggest top 20 uplift of the week was an episode of The Block on Nine with an uplift of 35% and aired to a total audience of 1.344 million.
Next in entertainment was Seven’s Home and Away with 475,000 metro viewers, then ABC program Old Peoples Home for Teenagers, which was tuned into by 394,000 metro viewers.
Hot Seat on Nine was next with 373,000 metro viewers, the ABC’s Great Southern Landscapes on 334,000 metro viewers, just ahead of Nine’s The Hundred with Andy Lee on 328,000 metro viewers. The Amazing Race on Ten brought in 316,000 metro viewers.
Meanwhile, Seven News topped overall programming for the evening, with 897,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 895,000, then Nine News at 6:30 on 844,000. Nine News brought in 813,000 metro viewers.\
In other news programming, Nine’s A Current Affair had 697,000 metro viewers and ABC News had 582,000 metro viewers, while ABC’s 7:30 had 487,000 metro viewers.
As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 30.2% over Seven’s 27.0%, while ABC had a share of 18.2%, and Ten took a 16.7% share.
Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 7Mate with a share of 3.9%.
