The Block hammers its competition; helps Nine win Monday TV

The Block on Nine topped entertainment again on Monday, while the network also celebrated the overall nightly network share win.

The program aired to 744,000 metro viewers, also winning all three key advertising demos. The season’s launch drew in 867,000 metro viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 15 August, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.578 million viewers, including 41,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of 9-1-1 Lonestar on Nine with an uplift of 45% and aired to a total audience of 442,000.

Looking back at Monday’s ratings, next in entertainment was Have You Been Paying Attention? On Ten which aired to an average metro audience of 687,000, followed by The Masked Singer reveal on Ten which was watched by 612,000 metro viewers.

Back Roads on ABC was watched by 522,000 metro viewers, followed by The Chase Australia on Seven, which brought in 522,000 metro viewers.

The Masked Singer full episode on Ten had an average metro audience of 491,000, while Home and Away aired to 482,000 metro viewers.

My Kitchen Rules on Seven had 472,000 metro viewers. 

Meanwhile, Seven News at 6:30 was the #1 metro program on Monday with 948,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News with 942,000 metro viewers, while Nine News brought in 898,000 metro viewers. Nine News at 6:30 pulled in 869,000 viewers.

ABC News brought in 634,000, and ABC’s 7:30 pulled in 526,000 viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 28.2% over Seven’s 25.5%, while Ten took a 21.9% share and the ABC had 16.9%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Monday was 7TWO with a share of 3.4%.
