The Block stays on top; Nine News at 6:30 takes crown off Seven News

Nine’s The Block topped entertainment on Tuesday, while the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

The program aired to 749,000 metro viewers, also winning all three key advertising demos. The 2022 launch aired to an average metro audience of 867,000. Last year, Nine aired the 2021 premiere of the program to 747,000 metro viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 9 August, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.561 million viewers, including 33,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was Tuesday’s episode of The Block on Nine with an uplift of 38% and aired to a total audience of 1.511 million viewers, and a BVOD audience of 278,000.

Looking back at Sunday overnights, next in entertainment was The Masked Singer Reveal on Ten, which aired to an average metro audience of 627,000, followed by The Chase Australia on Seven, which aired to an average of 557,000. The Masked Singer full episode aired to 494,000 metro viewers.

The Chase Australia brought in 454,000 metro viewers, followed by an episode of Home and Away on Seven which saw a metro audience of 438,000 viewers tune in.

My Kitchen Rules on Seven pulled in 436,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Nine News at 6:30 was the #1 metro program on Tuesday with 879,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News with 872,000 metro viewers. Seven News at 6:30 aired to 859,000, Nine News brought in 814,000. ABC News brought in 694,000, and A Current Affair pulled in 695,000 viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 30% over Seven’s 25.8%, while Ten took a 19.1% share and the ABC had 18.2%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Tuesday was 7Mate with a share of 3.5%.
