The Block tops entertainment and key demos but Seven wins Tuesday

Nine’s The Block aired to an average of 911,000 metro viewers on Monday, easily topping the key advertising demos as the #1 entertainment show on the night.

The Block went the closest it has gone to the million metro viewer mark, on a night when its only primetime reality competition was Australian Survivor, with no The Voice on Seven.

Ten’s Australian Survivor brought in 707,000 metro viewers and was #2 in entertainment, ahead of Seven’s Home And Away with 662,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven’s airing of Abba Forever had 526,000 metro viewers, and Nine’s The Hundred with Andy Lee was watched by 413,000 metro viewers, and Ten’s The Cheap Seats had 348,000 metro viewers.

The #1 program of the night was Seven News with 1.157 million metro viewers, ahead of Seven News At 6.30 with 1.137 million, Nine News with 1.072 million and Nine News 6:30 with 1.037 million.

Seven just barely pipped Nine in the network share on Tuesday, with a 29.5% share over Nine’s 29.3%. Ten had 20.4% and the ABC had 13.8%.

Nine claimed victory in the primary channel share battle, while the Paralympics continued to boost 7Mate as it took the multi-channel share contest.
