The Block wins the night beating X Factor

The-Block-234x132The Block pulled in 1.024m metro viewers at 7.30pm last night to win the evening, handing Nine a winning audience share of 19.8 per cent.

It out-rated Seven’s X Factor which was watched by 974,000, down from last week’s audience of 1.005m.

Both shows trounced Ten’s The Biggest Losers Families which managed an audience of 563,000 in the competitive 7.30pm timeslot.

In terms of audience share, Seven came second with a share of 19 per cent while the ABC claimed third place with a share of 16.3 per cent. Ten settled for a share of 12.5 per cent.

The Block was also the most-watched show across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54) while Ten’s news quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention? was the second most-watched program after pulling in 668,000 at 8.30pm.

Also in the 8.30pm timeslot, Nine’s How The Rich Get Hitched was watched by 546,000 while a triple episode offering of The Big Bang Theory on Seven pulled in 623,000 at 8.45pm, 462,000 at 9.15pm and 441,000 at 9.45pm.

On the ABC, 7.30 was watched by 809,000, Australian Story (8pm) grabbed 868,000 viewers, Four Corners (8.30pm) saw 627,000 tune in, Media Watch (9.20pm) had an audience of 630,000 and Q&A (9.30pm) was watched by 617,000.

In the news battleground, Seven News at 6pm was watched by 1.024m, dipping to 930,000 from 6.30pm. Nine News at 6pm was watched by 1.004m, climbing to 1.013m from 6.30pm.

In breakfast, Seven’s Sunrise was watched by 317,000, easily beating Nine’s Today which had an audience of 298,000.
