The Bravery makes new hires and promotions to expand sustainability push

Indie agency The Bravery has expanded its team to support its growing client roster, with a number of new hires and promotions.

Rachel Harrison joins as senior account director, bringing experience from London-based PR agency Frank, where she spent nearly four years working with various clients.

Ex-XYZ Dimensions and Hopeful Monsters (formerly known as Magnum & Co) talent Laura Bestman is moving to a permanent role as senior PR and event producer, while Megan Bentley has been promoted to senior account manager.

These two internal appointments mark the expansion of the agency’s sustainability and social-cause, as the pair continue to work with clients on purpose-led initiatives.

“Now with 12 years in market, our agency’s journey began long before the sustainability and ESG market influx we’re seeing today,” said Claire Maloney, founder and director at The Bravery.

“Over the past decade we have honed our expertise, built robust networks, and fostered invaluable relationships in the industry. By choosing us, our client partners gain a strategic advantage based on this experience and sector know-how. This strong foundation as a trusted sector leader allows us to guide businesses towards real impact and change.”

Account coordinator Corah Fortune has been promoted to account executive, after just 7 months in the coordinator role.

Fortune was a participant in The Bravery’s talent program, and Maloney said: “With the well-known labour shortages the industry is grappling with – plus the need to foster hearts and skills in relation to purpose – we knew we had to considerably invest and restructure how we bring talented new minds into the fold.

“At the same time, we have a strong responsibility to lead in the stamping out of illegal and unethical, unpaid internships that are rife in the sector. The program sees zero experience and under-graduates immediately enter the workforce in paid positions, and with a dedicated training and development arm so they succeed.”

The Bravery’s client list includes Hort Innovation, Battery Stewardship Council, Safewill, Living Future Institute of Australia and the Sydney Basin Koala Network, among others.
