‘The colder the water, the better the salmon’: New Ocean Blue campaign from SDWM

Melbourne-based indie agency SICKDOGWOLFMAN (SDWM) has launched a new OOH campaign for Max Foods’ Ocean Blue salmon following the success of its 2022 campaign.

The saying, ‘The colder the water, the better the salmon’, has been utilised for the campaign, which pokes fun at swimming in cold Norwegian waters, like the brand’s salmon.

“We love the brand we’re building with the team at SDWM and the opportunity to take consumers on a journey around the benefits of Norwegian salmon, in a fun way!,” said Max Foods’ marketing manager, Claudia Boniburini.

SDWM worked with Hart & Co’s photographer Cory White to capture a series of captivating shots that showcase the cold Norwegian waters, with taglines including ‘Makes Sven self-conscious’ and ‘Makes Henrik hypothermic’ to play along with the saying.

SDWM’s Jess Wheeler, creative director, said: “It was a joy establishing the tone and aesthetic for Ocean Blue last year. With this new campaign, we got to explore the simple truth behind why Ocean Blue is Australia’s favourite – because it’s from the freezing fjords of Norway – and bring it to life with personality and irreverence.”

He added: “It’s the type of work we all endeavor to make, and a credit to the team at Max Foods for getting right behind it.”

The campaign is live across outdoor, digital and social.
