Ryan Phelan will no longer appear on Seven’s afternoon news program The Daily Edition.
The news comes after Seven found out he had been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault. The alleged attack on his girlfriend occurred over the weekend.
Late last week, Seven announced The Daily Edition would be wrapping up this coming Friday, citing economic pressures.
Phelan and co-host Sally Obermeder were due to stick around until the end of the week and then depart the network.
A Seven spokesperson, however, told Mumbrella: “Ryan Phelan will not be returning to The Daily Edition effective immediately”.
The show launched in 2013, and will still continue until Friday, however at this stage it’s unclear if anyone will fill in for Phelan.
