The First Test Australia vs West Indies cricket match delivers for Seven; Nine wins Thursday

Seven’s cricket: First Test – Australia vs West Indies topped non-news TV programming on Thursday night, however, it was the Nine network that celebrated an overall network share win.

The match scored a healthy 386,000 metro views, however, it was the 2022 FIFA World Cup Australia vs Denmark game that topped 16-39, 18-49 demos. Nine News came out on top with the 25-54s.

The football match aired on SBS to a metro audience of 315,000 views.

Next in non-sport programming was Nine’s Paramedics which pulled in 348,000 metro viewers, followed by the network’s RBT which drew in 348,000 metro views.

Hot Seat on Nine was next with 321,000 metro views, while ABC’s You Can’t Ask That brought in 273,000 metro viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 24 November, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.295 million viewers, including 33,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 3%. Love Island Australia on Nine had the biggest uplift of 844% and was viewed by a total audience of 340,000, and 257,000 on BVOD.

Meanwhile, Nine News was the #1 metro program on Thursday with 688,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News with 683,000 metro viewers. Nine News at 6:30 also aired to 683,000, while Seven News at 6:30 brought in 657,000. ABC News was next and pulled in 526,000 viewers, while A Current Affair brought in 504,000.

In terms of overall share, as mentioned, Nine took the top spot,  with a share of 29.9% over Seven’s 26.3%, followed by ABC at 18%, and Ten with a 14.8% share.

Nine also secured the top primary channel share with 20.6% while Seven followed with 17.6%. The top-rating multi-channel on Thursday was 10 Peach with a share of 4%.
