The Footy Show wins the night ahead of NRL and AFL grand finals
The Footy Show’s grand final edition was the most watched non-news program of the evening, pulling in 923,000 metro viewers, ahead of the NRL and AFL grand finals that takes place this weekend.
The program also won across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49, 25-52).
In Melbourne, The AFL Footy Show grabbed 452,000 viewers while the NRL Footy Show in Sydney was watched by 194,000.
Also in the 7:30pm slot, Ten’s The Bachelorette saw a significant drop from last week, with 599,000 viewers, down from 703,000 viewers last Thursday.
Across the key ad demos, the program also dropped, coming second in the 16-39, third in the 18-49 demographic, and fifth in the 25-52 demo.
Despite The Bachelorette’s drop, the program beat Seven’s Monkeys That Make You Laugh Out Loud, which pulled 453,000 viewers in the 8:00pm time slot.
Later in the evening, at 8:40pm, GoggleBox pulled 670, 000 viewers, down from last week.
The program was still the second most watched program across the 18-49 and 25-52 demographics.
Seven’s Selling Houses, which aired at 9.30pm, pulled in 314,000 metro viewers.
In news, Channel Nine won the 6:00pm battle, pulling 1.103m viewers, just ahead of Seven’s 1.068m viewers.
Seven secured the win at 6:30pm, with 1.109 metro viewers – well above Nine’s 994,000 viewers in the same time slot.
Channel Nine won the night, with an audience share of 30.3%, ahead of Seven at 26.6%, and Ten at 20.4%. ABC achieved an audience share of 16.7%.
The biggest audience for the Footy Show was in Melbourne but that was for the AFL Footy Show, not the NRL Footy Show on at the same time in Sydney.
