The Mole digs deeper ratings hole
Seven’s third outing of reality suspense drama The Mole slumped to 650,000 viewers last night, down from Wednesday’s 700,000 and Tuesday’s opening audience of 864,000.
The series had an audience of 1.352m for the opening of the series in 2005, before it was put to bed until this week.
Nine News Nine was the top program of the night with 1.285m viewers followed by Seven News with 1.248m.
The Block was the top entertainment show of the night drawing in 1.237m viewers for the new episode from 7-8pm and The Block Unlocked which followed from 8-8.30pm had 1.058m viewers. Both programs topped the charts for 25-54’s, followed by The Footy Show which had 906,000 viewers across the five city metro. Channel Seven’s The Mole ranked tenth among 25-54’s, the preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTAM show.
It’s because the people on the show are mean. Not just bitchy for entertainment purposes, but mean. I stopped watching My Kitchen Rules because the contestants were mean. Stopped watching The Biggest Loser because they were mean. I don’t want to come home from work, turn on the TV and watch horrible people. It’s not funny, because it’s real. I appreciate there needs to be some level of drama, but when it goes from the occasional bitchy remark to people being legit mean to each other every episode, it’s just not enjoyable to watch anymore.

This show started back in 1999. My Year 7 French Class was devoted to it.
The most irritating thing about reality tv is when the contestants do their “piece” to the camera. It is really condescending. They say the most obvious like we the viewers are really stupid. Beside I know who the mole is – Its the nasty teenager from 1987 that I went to school with (lol)!!!!
