The Monkeys awarded $1.1M Federal Govt departmental contract

The Monkeys, part of Accenture Interactive, have been awarded a A$1.1 million contract by the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources according to AusTender.

The description for the contract notice reads: “Creative services for communication activities”, with the contract period running from 3 December 2021 to 2 June 2022.

The Monkeys created the Positive Energy campaign for the same Federal Government department, which launched last year on 19 September.

The campaign faced some criticism, particularly on the claim that hydrogen is a “clean” energy resource. A complaint was made to Ad Standards under the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA’s) Environmental Claims Code but the campaign was not found to be in breach.

The agency was also awarded a government contract of $1.65 million by the Federal Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment for a national recycling campaign last year.

The Monkeys declined to comment.
