The Pitch wins Aurora Short Film Festival
Foxtel’s community channel Aurora held its first short film festival last night at Sydney’s Dendy Opera Quays. Film school student Madeleine Parker took out the critic’s choice award for her film The Pitch.
Parker, who has previously completed an internship in Los Angeles with film producer Lawrence Bender who produced Reservoir Dogs, made the film prior to attending the Australian Film Television and Radio School. “I made the film for my application into AFTRS graduate diploma in directing. I got in,” says Parker. The film tells a story about two strangers who meet, but not for the first time.
Entrants were encouraged to create a short film, music clip, documentary or piece of digital art and the theme was ‘make something’.
