The Renovators receives its lowest audience to date
The Renovators has continued to disappoint with its second airing in the 7:30 slot drawing its lowest audience of the series with 668,000.
The show started the week on Monday in the 7:30 slot where it had an audience of 786,000. Tuesday’s last-minute shift to the 8pm slot drew 812,000 viewers.
On Wednesday night it was ranked 14th most-watched show, according to preliminary metro ratings from OzTam.
On the ABC, The Gruen Transfer’s second episode of the series saw an improved audience on its debut with 1.11 million, ranked fourth for the night.
Nine’s The Block was the number one show attracting 1.39 million with a clear win in Melbourne with 503,000 viewers.

I watched the Renovators for the first time last night.
The MasterChef formula may work with flour and ovens but not with gravel and shovels.

very happy that the renovators is performing badly. Ch10 are taking the piss out of it’s viewers with this show. Vs the Block, Renovators completely lacks any substance & humour & proof that the particular style/formula of reality is crap. Masterchef pulls the punters because of Matt, Gary & George not because we like a shiny ad or sponsor or inane drivel.

Geez, you guys are clever. Explain to me the relationship between a show actually being any good and it rating well?
I’d rather tie rope around a brick, tie the other end of the rope around my genitals, and throw the brick off my balcony, than watch the top rating shows on channels 7,9 and 10 each night.
If the aim of producing a TV program is to make money then you look at whether than is working out – when the numbers come in you have a measure of success or failure.
If you produce a program with the aim of it being educational, exciting, intriguing, funny, whatever, you can have a nice little discussion about whether it actually was any of those things and why.
If you have any doubts about what kind of program The Renovators is you’re not doing it right!

Renovators and The Block look sort of the same to me.
But then my little kid wants to watch Top Design. Which is sort of the same again.
Then as well as LOOKING all the same they are all ON at the same time – except sometimes!

The trick with Masterchef is showing us what the contestants are cooking. Renovators seem to want to show us anything BUT what the contestants are renovating. SHOW ME THE GODDAM HOUSES.
Although, if they bring back Don Burke a la potty mouth Can of Worms-style, I might watch every night….
